Joel Achenbach’s take on the Decade
I really like Joel’s summary of the first 10% of the 21st century. I especially like his closing paragraph:
“As history marches on, this decade will be known for its stumbles and reversals. The scolds and doubters reminded us that hope is not a plan. But neither is despair a winning strategy. The smart move is to look back at the 2000s glancingly, and then turn, with optimism, to the decade ahead.”

Interesting Google-ish Thing
I was researching a basic “difference between” question, and I was extremely intriuged by the top 10 Google suggested searches. Among other things, the #1 suggests to me that English is not dead.
This tagline is owned.
I used to have a tag line in my header that said “Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.” (Think about it.)
Then somewhere along the line I changed it to the current one, “It’s time to take this bull by the horns and milk it.”, which is wholly original, and I think, clever. Don’t believe me? This one is mine.
Now.. how do I get Googlebot to forget my old (Google-operated) BlogSpot blog and point here? It’s a quandry.
